Pimples Pop Up more Frequently if You Don't Take care of your Skin

by Danna Finnerand

Pimples pop up more often on a teenager than on anyone else. Hormonal changes make your sebaceous glands produce more sebum. This doesn't really get serious until the sebum mixes with dead skin cells and debris, clogging pores and producing an acne breakout.

Just in case you skipped Biology 101, clogged pores are the basis of all types of acne. If you don't think you need to be consistent with your daily cleansing routine, then your odds of getting pimples just doubled. Since acne isn't on anyone's top ten, you need to know that finding the proper pimples treatment starts with finding the adequate skin care routine.

First, determine your skin type. Oily skin is the type of skin that produces excess sebum, while dry skin tends not to have much sebum. Combination skin is a mix of these two types.

Pimples pop up more frequently in people who have oily skin or combination skin. This happens because oily skin produces too much sebum, and combination skin has high concentration of sebum around the T-zone.

Next, pick a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type. Cream cleansers are usually the best choice for dry skin. Use oil-free, foaming cleansers for oily and combination skin.

If you want to control your acne, then purchase a cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Both ingredients can effectively control acne breakouts. If you have sensitive skin, you should use a normal cleanser to keep your skin from becoming too irritated.

Once you've finished cleansing, follow up with a toner. An oil free toner is great for oily and combination skin, while dry skin will benefit from an alcohol and fragrance free toner.

If you wish, you can try a toner that contains alcohol, but only if you have non-sensitive oily skin. Be careful when using this type of product because it can lead to irritation and dryness, even on oily skin. Remember, toners are used to remove excess debris, so if you are using a good cleanser you probably won't need a toner.

Finally, apply your favorite skin moisturizer. For dry skin, choose a thick, creamy moisturizer. For oily skin try a water based moisturizer that is very light.

Since combination skin is comprised of 2 different skin types, you can use a different product for each skin type. You can also use a lighter moisturizer and reapply on your dry skin if this seems like too much of a hassle. Moisture is essential to healthy skin, so don't skip this step.

If you still think that skin care is not that important, think about this. If left un-treated or if treated incorrectly, acne can lead to noticeable acne scarring. What's worse: spending a few minutes a day to cleanse your face, or spending a life time following an acne scars treatment regimen?

By not following a daily skin care regime you risk making your acne worse. Daily cleansing not only makes your skin smoother it can also help prevent acne scars. If you don't like the chemicals found in most acne products, you can prefer the use of natural skin care products like BIOSKINCLEAR or BIOACNECARE. These wonderful products will help treat acne pimples safely and effectively.
